This post is for anyone who has ever suffered with digestive problems. If you are not among those folks, please let me know. I’d like to learn from you! Meanwhile, let me share my best take on such matters.
A few years back, I was in the emergency room a couple of times and then the hospital with stomach pain. It turned out to be stomach inflammation and h. pylori infection. Along with seeking medical help, I also sought divine help. I was praying like mad for a solution. The normal over-the-counter stuff didn’t work too well, nor did the meds the docs prescribed.
Then, I walked into a Whole Foods Market in Colorado Springs. As I headed toward the food aisles, I passed near the little book section. There, sitting out all by itself, was a book entitled Restoring Your Digestive Health by Jordan Rubin and Joseph Brasco. I bought it, read it, implemented the plan, rapidly overcame the pain and began to heal.
The core of Restoring Your Digestive Health is the “Guts and Glory” program. And the heart of the “Guts and Glory” program is a type of chicken soup called “Brasco Broth.” If you really are willing to make an effort to get well, you probably can with Guts and Glory and Brasco Broth. BTW of all the Jordan Rubin books I’ve read, this is by far the one that did me the most good. Guts and Glory is still my foundational approach to eating. Brasco Broth is my favorite recourse in the event the tummy takes a downturn.
